Revisited this at 2 recently and had to teach it, so sat down and read the manual (which didn't seem good?). Troyes - I had a disastrous first play of this game years ago, where I basically scored no points and finished the game without really understanding what was going on. Mini-game style Euros tend to be pretty hit or miss with me. Still, it had some fun clever plays and interesting chaining. I do find the theme interesting, but I don't think that's enough to carry it for me. I think there's other games I'd rather play in that timeframe/interactivity level, but I wouldn't not play it. There's nothing offensive going on here and the card exchange mechanic is fairly interesting. Gugong - First play with this game and I think this is one of the few games I walked away from feeling nothing about. It had a bit of skull sweat, but not too much, and some really interesting decision spaces. Then we played a second time, and it took off for me! Really enjoyed the trade mechanic, as well as the way everything worked together. It's not a deeply involved game, but the initial learning curve and when you can take actions need a bit of explanation for someone new. We played one game and got a lot of rules wrong. And the last game, which we played twice, was a recommendation from a forum member here! I found an intact copy of the American issue of Oltre Mare. It was a treat to play that for 4-player. ) We also played Century: Eastern Wonders, first time for them, and I lost handily to everyone. I won to my surprise! Really happy to get that back to the table and can't wait for my Big Box version to arrive. We played several games including Petrichor. I currently have an ongoing game of Welcome To with 12 people, an Agricola Revised Edition with 4 players and drafting, and am starting an obscure game Armadora since a friend wants to learn it.įinally, going back to a week Sunday since I didn't post about it here, friends came over for the first time since the pandemic started - although I've seen them at other friends houses so it wasn't an 18 month gap. Not sure if I like Race more just because I learned it first. I also got my third play of New Frontiers, the board game inspired by Race for the Galaxy. I want to play it again and someday try it on tabletop. I did not understand how it worked to try to win, however I certainly appreciate how it works. Second, a couple of asymmetrically played games ended, and new ones started, on BoardGameArena. Disappointing that certain Missions seem unbeatable. EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.Not as much as I would have liked, but at least I got something in.įirst, there were many plays of a solo game in playtest. ![]() Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted Schoolhouse.Max's Big Bust - A Captain Nekorai Tale.Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed.Mighty Switch Force!
